Terms and Conditions

1. Who we are

These terms are an agreement between you and The Forum Entertainment Inc. ("The Forum", "we", "us", "our"), a British Columbia company that produces and promotes live events, primarily for post-secondary students in the Metro Vancouver area.

2. What these terms cover

These terms apply when you:

• use theforumuniversity.com or any of its subdomains, including event pages such as rewind.theforumuniversity.com
• sign up through any of our forms, guestlists, drop alerts, waitlists or giveaways
• receive our email or SMS messages
• attend an event we produce or promote

By using our pages or services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use them.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information and forms part of these terms.

3. Age requirement

Our events are 19 and over. You must be at least 19 to sign up for a guestlist, enter a giveaway, or subscribe to our SMS messages. Venue door staff check two pieces of government ID at the door. A spot on a list or a ticket does not guarantee entry if you cannot show valid ID.

4. Tickets

Tickets are sold through third-party platforms such as TicketWeb and Showpass. When you buy a ticket, that platform's terms and refund policy apply to the purchase, and that platform processes your payment. Prices shown on our pages may not include service fees charged by the ticketing platform.

Unless the ticketing platform or the law says otherwise, tickets are non-refundable once bought, including if you cannot attend or are refused entry.

If we cancel an event and do not reschedule it, ticket holders get the ticket price back. Service fees charged by the ticketing platform are that platform's to refund and follow its policy. If we reschedule, your ticket is valid for the new date, and you can ask for a refund of the ticket price instead.

5. Guestlists, presales and offers

• A guestlist spot is subject to the conditions shown on the form, such as an arrival cutoff time, a capacity cap, or a required inviter name. If you arrive after the cutoff or the list is full, you may be asked to pay regular entry.
• Guestlist spots, presale access and discount codes are personal and may not be sold or transferred unless we say otherwise.
• We may limit, change or end any offer, presale or promotion at any time.
• Giveaways follow any additional rules published with that giveaway.
• Signing up for a guestlist, drop alert or waitlist does not subscribe you to marketing. Unless you tick the separate email or SMS opt-in box, we only contact you about that list and that event.

6. At the event

Events take place at independent venues. You must follow the venue's rules and the instructions of venue and security staff. The venue and its staff may refuse entry or remove anyone at their discretion, including for intoxication, unsafe behaviour, or failing to show valid ID. No refund is owed in that case.

You attend at your own risk. Our events are late-night parties at licensed venues, with crowds, loud music, lighting effects and alcohol served to those of age. You are responsible for your own behaviour and for looking after your belongings. Neither we nor the venue is responsible for personal items that are lost, damaged or stolen.

Event details such as the lineup, start time or venue can change. We will make reasonable efforts to tell you about significant changes.

Photographers and videographers attend our events, and we post signs on site to say so. By attending, you agree that you may appear in photos and videos we use to promote The Forum. Tell the photographer if you do not want to be filmed. If an image of you is already posted and you want it taken down, email privacy@theforumsfu.com and we will remove it from our own channels.

7. Email messages

Only if you opt in, we send email about upcoming events, presale access, offers and newsletters. We also send operational emails about an event you signed up for, such as confirmations and door instructions. You can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the link in any email.

8. Using our website

You agree not to misuse our pages, including by submitting false information, signing up other people without their permission, interfering with the site, or scraping it. Our logos, photos, videos and content belong to The Forum or its licensors and may not be reused without permission.

9. SMS Terms

9.1 Program sponsor

The SMS program is operated by The Forum Entertainment Inc., 16-188 Wood St, New Westminster, BC V3M 0H6, Canada.

9.2 What you will receive

The Forum SMS program sends recurring text messages about The Forum's live events, including new event announcements, ticket and presale drops, guestlist openings, discount codes, giveaways, and reminders for events you signed up for.

9.3 How you join

You join by entering your mobile number on one of our forms and ticking the separate SMS consent box. That box is never pre-ticked. Consent to receive SMS is not a condition of any purchase.

9.4 Message frequency

Message frequency varies with our event calendar. You will receive up to 5 messages per month.

9.5 Rates

Message and data rates may apply. Charges depend on your mobile plan and are billed by your carrier. The Forum does not charge for SMS messages.

9.6 How to stop

Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe at any time. You can also reply UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END or QUIT. You will receive one final message confirming you have been unsubscribed, and no further SMS after that. To rejoin, reply START or sign up again through one of our forms.

9.7 Help and support

Reply HELP to any message for help, or contact us at support@theforumsfu.com.

9.8 Carriers

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported carriers may change.

9.9 Your number

You confirm that you are the account holder of the mobile number you provide, or have the account holder's permission to use it. If you change or give up your number, reply STOP first or email support@theforumsfu.com so we stop texting it.

9.10 Privacy

We do not sell, rent or share your mobile number or SMS opt-in data with third parties for their own marketing. We use your number only as described in our Privacy Policy, which includes sending it to our SMS platform, Brevo, to deliver messages.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, The Forum is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of our pages, messages or events, or from the acts of venues, ticketing platforms or other third parties. Where we are found liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us directly, if any, for the event in question.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that cannot be waived by agreement, including rights under British Columbia consumer protection law and any liability for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above. If a change materially affects our SMS program, we will tell SMS subscribers by text before it takes effect.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of British Columbia.
